About Us

This site exists for one reason: to explain a single slot properly. Instead of covering thousands of games in a few lines each, we cover Hacksaw Gaming's hunting release in depth, from the star system on each animal to the RTP setting a casino chooses.

We are an independent editorial team. We do not run a casino, we do not take bets and we are not owned by the game studio.

What we publish

Every page on the site answers a practical question a player might have before or during play. How does the Hunt actually pay? Which bonus round matters most? What does the UK version look like compared with the international one? Where the answer depends on the casino, we say so rather than guess.

We also host the official free version of the game. The demo page loads it straight from the provider's servers, so what you see there is the real build running on a virtual balance.

How we research

Our sources are the ones closest to the game itself: the rules screen inside the game, the provider's published data on RTP settings, volatility and win caps, and long demo sessions in which we log what happens rather than relying on memory.

  • Every figure on a page has to be traceable to one of those sources.
  • Where sources disagree, the in-game rules win, and the difference is noted.
  • Where no official figure exists, we say that it has not been published instead of estimating it.

Who writes and who checks

Game analysis is researched and written by Rosalind Pengelly, whose background is in statistics and games testing. Before anything goes live, Crispin Maudsley reviews the draft independently, checking rules, figures and the wording around risk.

Keeping those two roles separate is deliberate. The person who wrote a page is the person least likely to spot what it overstates.

How the site is funded

Some links on this site lead to licensed online casinos, and we may receive a commission if a reader opens an account through them. That is how the research, the hosting and the reviewing are paid for.

Commercial arrangements do not decide what we write about the game. The weaknesses on our pages, such as the modest win cap or the very low bottom RTP setting, stay on the page regardless of any partnership.

Corrections and updates

Slots change after release. Casinos switch RTP settings, regulators change rules and providers update builds. We review our pages when that happens and show the date of the last update at the top of the main page.

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page with a short description and, where possible, a screenshot. Confirmed mistakes are corrected quickly and without fuss.

Who this site is for

Everything here is written for adults aged 18 and over who want to understand a game before they spend money on it. If you are under 18, please leave the site. If gambling is causing problems for you or someone close to you, our responsible gambling page lists free and confidential support.
